In 1971 John and Jim Hand started their family owned business fresh out of college and a little green behind the ears. Chevrolet was our original franchise, back in those days the Camaro and Chevy Nova were hits! Our original building, an old barn, in the center of town stood right at "Malfunction Junction". A few years later In 1974 our first new building was erected and later came three more renovations and additions.

In 1977 VW joined our team. In the early days the Rabbit and Scirocco were exciting new offerings. Later all sorts of new VW products have come along from the exciting clean burning Jetta Diesel TDi to the all new head turning CC. In 2007 Hand opened its new state of the art Service Building in the back portion of our facility. At the same time a new entrance and exit road was opened to Bonnet street or Route 30.

Through thick and thin , gas crunches and outlet booms, Hand Motors continues to grow as it approaches its 40th year in business. Its been a wonderful journey, a great community in which to live and work, a lot of cars sold, many parts over the counter, and many more service work orders completed for our dedicated loyal customers.

What a wonderful place to do business! From the moment we walked in, we felt totally comfortable and cared for. We were greeted politely, and not pounced on. The staff was informative, but not pushy. My wife and I were treated with respect, given time to make our own decision, and actually enjoyed the experience. When we called back the next day to request more information, our call was returned promptly. When we completed the purchase, we had some timing issues that made it inconvenient for us to drive back to the dealership to pick up the car. The salesman told us not to worry, and delivered the car to our home that afternoon.
